Alexander Bublik Completes Clay-Court Sweep with Kitzbuhel Triumph
Alexander Bublik wins Kitzbuhel, completing a clay-court sweep and extending his winning streak.

Alexander Bublik has extended his remarkable clay-court form with a victory at the Kitzbuhel tournament, securing his third title of the year and second in consecutive weeks. Riding an impressive eight-match winning streak, Bublik defeated Arthur Cazaux in the final, winning 6-4, 6-3. This marked a repeat encounter after their clash just days earlier in Gstaad, where Bublik also emerged victorious.
The top seed’s performance was marked by resilience, saving four of five break points to close out the match. Reflecting on the challenging conditions and schedule, Bublik remarked, “I can’t believe I did it as it was probably one of the toughest weeks in my life because coming from Gstaad, playing here, different conditions and raining. I used the few chances I had and I am happy to have won.”
This season, Bublik has demonstrated consistent excellence, owning a perfect 3-0 record in tour-level finals. Along with back-to-back clay titles in Gstaad and Kitzbuhel, he also claimed the Halle championship in June by defeating Daniil Medvedev. Notably, Bublik reached the quarterfinals at Roland Garros, which has helped him climb significantly in the rankings—from outside the Top 80 in March to now projected inside the Top 25.
Looking ahead, Bublik is slated to compete next at the Cincinnati Open after withdrawing from the Toronto Masters 1000 event. His recent surge positions him as a player to watch during the North American hard-court season and bolsters his prospects of being seeded at the US Open.

Hangzhou Open 2025 preview: Rublev, Medvedev and Bublik lead strong ATP 250 entry
Rublev, Medvedev and Bublik headline the 2025 Hangzhou Open entry list and prize money details. info

The 2025 Hangzhou Open arrives as the ATP returns to Asia for its autumn swing, with a notable entry list for an ATP 250 event. The tournament, staged again after its 2024 edition in which Marin Cilic defeated Zhang Zhizhen in the final, will take place in the 8,000-seat stadium and promises a compact week of singles action.
Top seed duties fall to world No 14 Andrey Rublev, who is entered at the event for the first time. He is joined at the head of the field by compatriot Daniil Medvedev, a former world No 1 who is competing in his first tournament under new coach Thomas Johansson. Medvedev has dropped to 18th in the ATP Rankings this season and is opting to focus on ATP events rather than other team competitions.
Alexander Bublik, ranked No 19, is also entered and arrives on the back of his best season to date, targeting a fourth title of 2025. The quartet of top seeds is completed by world No 39 Corentin Moutet, the only other top-40 player currently in the entry list.
Seeds five through eight include Camilo Ugo Carabelli, Roberto Bautista Agut, Adrian Mannarino and Learner Tien. Defending champion Marin Cilic returns to defend his title, and Matteo Berrettini is among those listed as making a comeback following recent injury issues. Other names in the entry list include Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Damir Dzumhur, Aleksandar Kovacevic, Matteo Arnaldi and David Goffin, among others.
As an ATP 250 tournament, the champion will receive 250 ranking points. While the ATP has not published an updated round-by-round points table for 2025, last year’s distribution awarded 165 points to the runner-up, 100 to semifinalists, 50 to quarterfinalists, 25 to second-round winners and no points for a first-round exit. The event carries a total prize-money purse of $1,019,185, up slightly from 2024; Cilic earned $152,240 for lifting the title last year.
The 28-player main draw begins on Wednesday, September 17 and concludes with the final on Tuesday, September 23. The top four seeds—Rublev, Medvedev, Bublik and Moutet—will receive byes into the second round. Wildcards and qualifiers will be confirmed ahead of the draw ceremony.

Eala to meet qualifier Yasmine Mansouri in Sao Paulo opener
Alex Eala opens Sao Paulo campaign vs Yasmine Mansouri after rise from Guadalajara. Third seed 2025.

Alex Eala arrives in Sao Paulo on the back of a breakthrough month and will open her SP Open campaign as the third seed at the WTA 250 event. The 20-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise: she became the first Filipino in the Open Era to win a Grand Slam singles match when she stunned 14th seed Clara Tauson at the US Open just over two weeks ago, and she followed that landmark with the biggest title of her career at the WTA 125 Guadalajara Open. Eala climbed 14 places in the WTA Rankings after Guadalajara and arrives in Brazil among the highest-ranked players in the draw.
Her first opponent is qualifier Yasmine Mansouri. The 24-year-old Frenchwoman has spent most of her career on the ITF circuit and has claimed five W15-level singles titles, four of those victories coming in Monastir, plus five further ITF finals. Mansouri reached a career-high of world No 314 in February 2025 and is currently ranked 380th, carrying a 25-24 win-loss record for the season to date. She has reached three ITF semi-finals in 2025 and entered the Sao Paulo main draw after a second-round finish to Linda Fruhvirtova in Leiria.
Mansouri made her WTA Tour debut at the 2022 Jasmine Open in Monastir with a wildcard into the main draw, where she lost in straight sets to Magdalena Frech. At the Sao Paulo qualifying event she was seeded fourth, defeating home wildcard Ana Cruz 6-3, 6-2, then beating Thaisa Grana Pedretti 6-2, 6-4 to secure her place in the main draw.
This will be the first meeting between Eala and Mansouri; they are separated by 319 places in the WTA Rankings. The opening-round match is scheduled for Tuesday, with the winner set to face either Julia Riera or Vitalia Diatchenko in the next round.

Tsitsipas Begins Winston-Salem Campaign as Young Americans Advance Across Events
Tsitsipas opens Winston-Salem; Korda returns from injury. Blanch and Dostanic record milestones. Now

Stefanos Tsitsipas begins his Winston-Salem campaign this week as attention spreads across three simultaneous ATP and WTA tournaments. The ATP 250 draw features a mix of seeds, unseeded challengers, qualifiers and a recent wild card winner, while WTA action continues in Monterrey and Cleveland.
On Monday the first two second-round matches were completed, setting up a third-round meeting between Sebastian Korda and Kamil Majchrzak at the ATP 250. Korda returned from a leg injury that sidelined him since Roland Garros and opened his comeback with a straight-sets victory over Vit Kopriva, 6-3, 6-4.
The Winston-Salem field includes No. 16 seed Marcos Giron, unseeded Mackenzie McDonald and Aleksandar Kovacevic, qualifiers Nishesh Basavareddy and Darwin Blanch, and wild card Stefan Dostanic. Seventeen-year-old Blanch recorded the first tour-level win of his career in the opening round by defeating Borna Coric and will now face No. 8 seed Alexandre Muller. Dostanic, 23, also posted his first tour-level victory over Aleksandar Vukic and is scheduled to meet No. 5 seed Lorenzo Sonego.
With the US Open days away, Tsitsipas, a former No. 3 who was ranked in the Top 10 as recently as the clay-court season, arrives in Winston-Salem seeking form. He currently sits at No. 28 after losing seven of his last 11 matches and opens his campaign in the first evening match against China’s Bu Yunchaokete. It is a first-time meeting; Bu compiled three career wins over Top 30 players last fall against Lorenzo Musetti, Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov.
On the WTA side, a 17-year-old who made her Top 100 debut in June after winning a WTA 125K event on grass is a win away from her first WTA quarterfinal. After recording her first career Top 30 victory last week in Cincinnati — a second-round win over No. 23-ranked Linda Noskova — she will face fellow American Ann Li today for a spot in the last eight at the WTA 250 event.
There is also a rematch of the 2024 final in the WTA 500 first round as Noskova meets Lulu Sun; Noskova defeated Sun for the title last year, 7-6 (6), 6-4. One of six first-round matches on the WTA 500 schedule today features Alycia Parks as the lone American, taking on Cristina Bucsa.
